Buffalo Bills
New Highmark Stadium
Lead counsel to the Buffalo Bills and affiliate Bills Stadium and Events Company on the $2.2 billion development of the new Highmark Stadium—the largest construction project in Western New York history. Representation extends to all real estate, public private partnership and construction matters related to the project.
Buffalo Sabres
HarborCenter
Served as counsel to the Sabres and affiliates in conjunction with the $175 million development of a sports and entertainment complex adjacent to KeyBank Center. Services included representation in all aspects of the project, including development, construction, and economic incentives for this cornerstone of Buffalo’s waterfront revitalization.


Buffalo Bills Stadium Lease Renewal & Renovation Projects
(1998 & 2013)
Represented Erie County in 1998 and served as co-counsel to Empire State Development in 2013 in conjunction with the renewal of the lease for the Bills stadium. Both transactions included extensive renovation and modernization of the stadium through a public private partnership with the team, Erie County and Empire State Development.
College of William & Mary
Student Housing & Dining Hall
Represented the college through financial close on its first-ever public-private partnership, a $240 million collaboration with Balfour Beatty, delivering a 1,200-bed student housing facility and 50,000 sq. ft. dining hall.


IDEX Corporation
North American Real Estate
Served as real estate counsel to IDEX Corporation, a multinational publicly-traded engineered products company. Representation included leasing and property acquisition and disposition for the corporate headquarter and across IDEX’s 50 plus operating units.
Global Hospitality Provider
HQ & Hospitality Campus Lease
Represented multinational hospitality services provider in conjunction with the lease for its new headquarters and related hospitality campus. Representation included all lease and economic development incentives related to the project.


Buffalo Schools Reconstruction Program
Counsel to the program manager for a $1.4 billion, five-phase modernization of 48 Buffalo public schools spanning 10 years. Representation included significant work related to construction, public-private partnership structuring and tax-exempt financing for the program.
Port of Albany
Offshore Wind Manufacturing Facility
Represented the Port in structuring a P3 for the development of a manufacturing facility supporting an offshore wind turbine manufacturing facility.


University at Buffalo Foundation Student Housing
Advised on development, financing, and construction of seven student housing projects (one off-campus, six on-campus). Services included ground lease negotiation, tax-exempt financing, and management/construction agreements.
Binghamton University Foundation
Served as counsel to the Binghamton University Foundation and its affiliates in conjunction with development, financing, and eventual sale of an off-campus student housing complex within a mixed-use facility. Representation covered ground lease structuring, financing, and full transaction documentation.


Canton College Foundation
Represented the Foundation in development construction and financing of an on-campus student housing complex, as well as proposed bio digester and solar farm projects.
SUNY Buffalo Medical School Project
Led land acquisition for a $475 million medical school—the largest SUNY construction project to date—including an innovative air rights lease with a public transit authority to integrate the development of the medical school with an existing underground light rail public transportation station.


Purchase College Foundation
Served as counsel to the Foundation and its affiliates in conjunction with the development, construction and financing of two on-campus, off-balance-sheet privatized student housing projects.
Buffalo State College Foundation
Represented the Foundation in the development and operation of an on-campus student housing project, including ground lease negotiation and tax-exempt financing.


Georgia Board of Regents
Multicampus Student Housing Project
Served as counsel to national developer of military and student housing on public private student housing transactions in multiple states. This representation included drafting and negotiation of principal P3 transaction documents. The most significant aspect of this representation included negotiation and principal transaction documents for the 9 campus, $580 million Georgia Board of Regents transaction, which at that time was the largest P3 student housing project ever undertaken at a US college or university
Buffalo Niagara
Medical Campus
Advised a not-for-profit development corporation on two major P3 projects to develop, finance, and operate urban parking facilities. Services included drafting and negotiation of all project agreements.
